We would like to extend a heartfelt congratulations to our colleague Mick Howard, who is today (19th December 2023) celebrating 40 years of service with Dales.
In 1983, Mick joined Dales on a Youth Training Scheme, employed as a Factory Labourer. Youth Training Scheme’s combined on-and-off-the-job learning and training. Mick worked as a Factory Labourer for 3 years, before moving to work in Dales PPC Paint Plant. After this, Mick moved to Dales’ now defunct Cossall factory and worked as a Press brake/Guillotine Operator. Mick excelled in this role, as is evidenced by his eventual promotion to Foreman of the factory.
Eventually, Mick moved back to the Ilkeston site. Soon after, he was offered a role within Dales’ Estimating department, which he chose to accept. Since this time, Mick has worked as an Estimator within the business. His primary responsibilities include reviewing enquiries, liaising with customers, and costing projects.
Whilst Mick has fulfilled a variety of roles within the business, what has remained consistent during his years of service is his unwavering dedication and diligence. Mick has been an integral part of Dales’s journey, creating a positive atmosphere and remaining a constant source of laughter and entertainment. We are delighted to join him in celebrating this fantastic milestone!
Colin Dales, Commercial Director at Dales, said…..“From being on the shop floor with him all those years ago, Mick has always been a pleasure to work with. I would like to congratulate him on 40 amazing years of service. It’s truly an astounding achievement to stay with a business for 4 decades and is a testament to the hard work and commitment Mick has showcased throughout his career with us.”
Mick is a keen fisher, so to mark the occasion, the team presented him with a fishing box seat. Happy fishing!
