Through investment in advanced tooling, Dales Fabrications have brought the manufacture of our aluminium pipe brackets entirely in-house, meaning we now have full control over their quality and availability.
Investing in Advanced Tooling
In 2024, we applied for a Manufacturing Research and Development grant to invest in specialised tooling for our machinery. Through the East Midlands Manufacturing Network and the Erewash Partnership, we were awarded the funding, and the new tooling arrived at the end of February this year. Working with our trusted tooling partner, Wilson Tool, we developed a solution that allows us to press and punch pipe brackets directly from flat sheet aluminium, enabling us to manufacture these components entirely in-house.
Dales are now manufacturing aluminium pipe brackets in-house with the help of new tooling.
Benefits for Customers
By bringing pipe bracket production under our own roof, Dales now has complete control over the quality and reliability of our products. Managing the manufacturing process internally removes our dependence on external suppliers. This reduces delays and helps avoid turning work away due to stock shortages. It also ensures that every bracket we produce meets our high standards for quality.
With full control over the manufacturing process, we can now offer customers shorter lead times, greater reliability, and improved consistency. Every pipe bracket is manufactured to our in-house quality standards, ensuring consistency across our rainwater systems. This greater control also gives us the flexibility to respond faster to bespoke project requirements. Additionally, removing reliance on external suppliers means transport emissions are reduced and, sustainable construction practices are supported – a growing priority for many of our clients.
