Products and Systems

Keeping the design and supply of the fascia, soffit and rainwater goods under the control of one company avoids potential problems with integration of component parts and interaction between incompatible materials.

Dales’ systems are designed to suit each individual project and each system is unique. The standard system components and options available are explained below. All systems are available in our standard range of finishes. There are approximately 200 colours available: Click Here For Full List (Please note, this opens up in a seperate window).

Due to the unique nature of each project it is not possible show every possible combination of our products. However, a number of popular examples are shown here, each drawing can be downloaded in DWG format for your convenience.

NBS clauses are available for download. For NBS clauses tailored specifically to your requirements please speak to one of our project managers or arrange a consultation with one of our technically qualified representatives on 0115 930 1521.

As part of our specification service we are happy to prepare detailed sections to suit your specific requirements. To receive the benefits of this service or to receive a consultation with a technical representative at your premises please contact us on 0115 930 1521 or e-mail techinfo@dales-eaves.co.uk

Internal Gutter Configuration

All of our fascia and soffit systems are available in an internal gutter configuration option.

Internal gutter configurations provide a sleek and uninterrupted line to the eaves and allow more imaginative eaves profiles to be utilised, from straight forward vertical fascias to bullnoses, ellipses, trapezoidal profiles and many more.

As all our profiles are made to order, almost any profile can be considered, see profiles below. All profiles can be used in conjunction with any of our standard soffit systems.

The internal gutter can be supplied as mill finished aluminium, single skin membrane lined or insulated.

External Gutter Configuration

External gutter configurations provide a more traditional appearance to the eaves. Fascias are generally vertical, although other profiles are available, and can be utilised with any of Dales standard gutter profiles.

Fascias can be manufactured to suit any of our standard soffit systems.

All fascias are made to order and as such the range of profiles is almost limitless. Whilst there are obviously manufacturing constraints, anything can be considered.

If you have a requirement for a special profile please contact our technical dept.

Dales Sigma Fineline is a recent addition to the fascia range. Fascias are individually pressed from sheet aluminium to create the appearance of a structural steel member.

The system is available in a variety of sizes and proportions and the production method is free of the limitations of similar extrusion based systems.

Plank Soffit System

Our Kwikfix soffit system was developed to meet the demands for a cost effective, secretly fixed soffit-planking system.

The profile of the plank allows material thickness to be kept to a minimum whilst manufacturing techniques allow us to offer the plank in numerous sizes, allowing a module to suit any width of soffit without the need for make-up pieces.

This system can be used in conjunction with any of our fascia profiles, can be orientated either parallel or perpendicular to the fascia and can even be supplied tapered to suit curved soffit areas.

Panel Soffit Systems

Available in up to 3m lengths our Kwikfix Panel system can be modulated to suit grids which, when used in conjunction with a modulated fascia profile gives an extremely attractive finish to the eaves.

Panels can be supplied curved in plan or elevation to suit most applications.

The system also comes with a secretly fixed longitudinal joint option, thus avoiding any visible fixings to the eaves.

Support - Timber

Timber supports

The most basic method of support is to fix to a timber sub-fascia and carcassing system.

This option keeps overall costs to a minimum; however, any discrepancy or deviation within the timber substructure may be reflected in the finished product. Our recommendation is generally therefore one of two options:

Support - Plexus Carcassing System

Galvanised steel fascia and soffit support system

Keeping the support method simple and easy to install is the key to attractive and well-finished eaves assemblies.

Fixed back to timber or primary steel work the Plexus carcassing system is designed to suit each individual project and allows building tolerances to be incorporated into our systems.

Usually a combination of galvanised steel angles, channels and cleats, the Plexus carcassing system is supplied to site colour coded to simplify installation and identification.

Support - Monocoque System

Purpose made galvanised steel supports

The Monocoque support system reduces installation time to a minimum.

Bespoke galvanised steel diaphragm plates are fixed to the primary structure, working equally well for either steel of timber roof structure. Because the geometry of the plates are fixed, all that the installer has to do is to ensure that each Monocoque bracket is fixed lined and level, the aluminium fascia, soffit and gutter are then simply fixed to the bracket giving an incredibly accurate system.

The Monocoque system can be designed to work with all of our fascia, soffit and gutter systems and can be cut to almost any shape allowing elaborate fascia and soffit assemblies to be supported without the need for a complex network of support components.

Additional Options - Secret Fix Joints

Our standard jointing method for fascias and soffits incorporates an internal buttstrap secured with pop rivets, which are positioned to be as unobtrusive as the profile will allow.

Larger panel type soffits and more elaborate fascia profiles are generally jointed using our secret fix jointing option, however all systems are available with a secret fix joint if desired.

Additional Options - Ventilation

Ventilation equivalent to a 10mm or 25mm continuous air gap can be incorporated into all of our fascia and soffit systems.

The ventilation can be incorporated into either the fascia profile or the soffit profile and is provided through 1 row of 31 x 2mm pencil line slots for 10mm or 2 rows for 25mm.

Fixings

Fixings

Fixings always present a potential weak link in any system, Dales take the process of fixing selection as seriously as the design of the system itself. All our fixings have been selected after careful consultation with manufacturers and rigorous testing for both ultimate strengths and potential incompatibility issues.

All necessary fixings are supplied as part of a complete package from Dales.
